DESIGN CONCEPT
Breathe Freely in the Forest: Embracing Nature with Family-Friendly Forest-Style Interior Design
When expressing themes of rawness, nature, and forest, these translate into a relaxing vacation cabin atmosphere within the physical space. The ceiling design incorporates lattices and a sloped roof evoking tree imagery, with light wood tones that seamlessly extend across the ceiling, floor, and walls. Partition walls are minimized to maximize space, while panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows bring in natural light, breeze, and woodsy scenery, creating a bright and open view. The rustic character is emphasized by incorporating green plant walls and tree trunks standing in the public areas. Leveraging spatial advantages and material layering, the design fulfills the homeowner's dream of a forest treehouse.
The entrance area is crafted with contrasting materials of exposed concrete and irregular cultural bricks. The entrance cabinetry extends to the TV wall, with a suspended design that reduces the mass feeling. LED strip lighting underneath adds a light visual touch. Symmetrical and orderly lines define the TV wall, which is planned with complete storage functions. The use of raw materials in their natural colors keeps the space fresh and unburdened.
In the living room arrangement, a large open space is preserved to allow children to play and relax safely and freely, enjoying joyful family moments anytime. Next to the sofa stands a natural-shaped white painted tree trunk, with a circular light halo at the top symbolizing sunlight; alongside a touch of greenery on the wall, it depicts a beautiful coexistence with nature and creates a uniquely Nordic forest atmosphere.
The fully open kitchen space makes good use of the design with an island bar area, enabling flexible cooking flow and continuing the color scheme of the living room; this creates a visually transparent and enlarged spatial feel, bringing a leisurely and comfortable dining environment. The distinctive Danish GUBI SEMI pendant light, with its curved metal lines, showcases a clean and sleek texture.
Following the visual extension of the corridor; the feature wall displays Popup Lighting’s designed fixtures, where the play of light and shadow brings a joyful and warm atmosphere to the home life.
The master bedroom wall in the forest-style decor is adorned with layered wood-grain panels and accent lighting, creating a richly textured feature wall along with a plant wall. The bedside pendant light, paired with the MUUTO E27 SOCKET SUSPENSION LAMP, features a charming bulb design that returns to the most natural form of lighting. The soft olive green adds a natural and harmonious beauty, bringing a comfortable taste to the bedroom. The master closet features an open hanging rod design, arranged orderly to keep clothes well organized and easy to coordinate.
The children's room design considers the different growth stages of the kids; it features a custom integrated desk, a raised platform hiding storage cabinets, and wardrobe combinations. The practical design maintains consistency in style and form. The color scheme uses pink pastel tones for the little girl and blue pastel tones for the little boy, paired with their favorite wallpaper patterns, creating joyful personal spaces for each child.
