DESIGN CONCEPT
Returning to Nature’s Essence: Elegant and Minimalist Muji Style
The design of a retirement home is an important life proposal for the second half of life, allowing life to return to ease, which may be the true beginning of freedom. Using simple yet original materials such as faux exposed concrete paint and diatomaceous earth with a slightly granular texture on the walls, these two different but equally simple and refined materials showcase handcrafted texture and craftsmanship, presenting a low-key yet rustic beauty.
The natural wood grain elements are integrated throughout the entire TV wall and floor, echoing the wooden slat styled cabinet wall. Within this orderly visual, a harmonious beauty emerges, crafting a simple yet elegant, comfortable and understated retirement home style from minimalist design.
The Japanese-style tatami room is an essential element and a flexible functional space specifically requested by the homeowner. The tatami exudes a unique Japanese ambiance, offering a serene and peaceful retreat through the passage of time.
An unpretentious lifestyle aesthetic, not deliberately pursuing beauty, freely enjoying the warmth and freshness the space brings. Sensing the process effortlessly, experiencing the tranquility that calms the soul, returning to the essence of nature. This pure aesthetic permeates the entire space, naturally forming the true feeling of home—this is also the original intent of the retirement home design.
